If you become acutely unwell and require immediate treatment while you are on holiday in our locality you can receive emergency treatment at our practice. If you are taking warfarin or require daily dressings please inform us at the earliest opportunity so we can accommodate your needs. Patients wishing to register temporarily will be required to come to the surgery to complete the Temporary Resident form, however, we are unable to register you as a temporary patient "in case of illness". Please provide proof of identity when registering.
If you have returned home from University for the holidays and require regular input from a GP or Nurse we can register you for up to 90 days.
We cannot offer routine GP or Nurse appointments for treatments such as ear syringes, routine blood tests requested by your GP before your holiday or immunisations for example.
Should you run out of medication on your holiday please contact your surgery in the first instance as they can electronically send a prescription to a local pharmacy. If your surgery is not willing to do this, please come in to us to complete a Temporary Resident form and ask your GP to fax or email us your medication information.
Please be aware that if your usual GP Practice is within Cornwall we are unable to accept you as a temporary patient unless it is a life threatening emergency.
Practices do not have to accept you as a temporary patient although they do have an obligation to offer emergency treatment.
